This is a cinepoem presented in the form of an advertisement about a hypnosis product that can control women. It highlights methods of control some men use to dominate and exploit women.
The website va-hypnotism.com exists as an extension of this cinepoem.
The website shows a digital collage of self-immolation survivors in Afghanistan surrounded by various canned meat products as search results from the google search ‘how to control women’ (screen shots) and from the youtube search ‘hypnosis women’ (screen shots), highlighting some of the most extreme cases of ‘ways to control women.’
The website plays off of this cinepoem.

An Illuminated iDentity brings together 9 artists exploring what cultural identity and individuality looks like in an increasingly immersive digital world. As technology is integrated with daily life, presentations of identity frequently are mediated through this cybernetic lens. An Illuminated iDentity questions what it means to be an individual and how our cultural identities are formed when narratives merge exponentially with digital technologies.

Hey dedicated YoGuy followers and submitters! When we first started this project back in 2010 it was an honor to have such amazing talent mix-and-match with the big and the small. Getting all that content was the best and it really has informed us and hopefully all of you! But the time has come for us to move on :-( the domain has expired and with it our time to keep searching and posting. Life gets in the way, you know!?
That all being said! Jon and I are looking for the young and the excited of the video making world to take up the reins! If you or anyone you know is interested in spearheading a 3 year old semi-successful online video aggregate send them our way!
